NEVER BUY AN IFB PRODUCT

In today's day and age .. I find it extremely shocking that IFB provides the worst after sales service in the consumer electronics department. I ordered this Microwave for our branch office. The item itself was delivered after 20+ days whereas it was supposed to be delivered within 5 days. Nonetheless, we eventually received the microwave and things worked fine for about 15 days after which the item stopped working. We called the IFB helpline and a service engineer was sent to our office after 3 days. The engineer claimed that the microwave magnetron and another part had blown out and would require replacement. Remember this is only after 15 days of use. We obviously assumed that this would be covered under the 3 year warranty that was provided with the item.
Here came the challenge - The service staff said and I quote "this microwave is being used for commercial purpose and warranty does not cover it". We were shocked to hear that. The guy could see this was a branch office with less than 10 people off which only 5 used the microwave to heat their lunch, i.e. total usage in a day would be no more than 15 minutes. MUCH less than what it would be at a normal residence. Yet IFB's stand was - this is a commercial office and warranty does not cover this.
We further tried to find this clause in the warranty document and have been unable to do so till now. Between that we communicated with IFB a few times and they promised us to resolve this issue by sending a Senior team member to assess the situation. BUT no one ever visited.
Bottomline - We will certainly be taking this up with the consumer court - But it is imperative that people get to know that they should avoid buying IFB products because when it comes to after sales service, IFB will try and escuse themselves out of it rather than resolve it.
