Ordered this book from Amazon back in November 2013. The delivery was prompt (2-3 days). A Good book for understanding the period of 1857 - 1947 with a detailed account by said five authors. Book contains 39 chapters in narrative style by different authors. First chapter starts from the Revolt of 1857.
Although the book is good in general, but in many places it lacks the neutral point of view a scholar expects from such book and biasness of writers is quiet evident in some pages of book. I found it more left leaning then the center. Read it with keeping above factor in mind, will serve the purpose better.
Updated- P.S. - Read "Eminent Historians" by Arun Shourie if you are not getting what I am saying.
