Drive is made in Malaysia.
Comes with FAT32.
Reformatted to NTFS (did a full format) in Windows 10
With HP USB Format Tool - getting write protection error when doing a full format - quick format worked fine
Size in Windows is 57.3 GB (64GB ideally should have been around 59.6GB in windows)
Read / Write speeds - comparable and good for a USB3.1 drive (will vary from system to system)
On a USB 3.0/USB C port on a laptop(i7/16GBRAM/512GBSSD) - got read speeds of 144 MB/s and write speeds of 35 MB/s
Overall a good device. Heating is manageable - better heat dissipation should lead to better life of the drive.

Read before you buy - Guide for a Layman

I purchased this device to transfer files from McBook Pro to Windows PC. I connected the Drive to my McBook and transferred the files. It took about 2hrs to transfer 84 GB worth files.

I then connected this device and transferred it to Windows PC. While the files were transferred, there seemed to have some error that I didn't understand.

I then decided to format this to NTFS and someone said in the review. The process is damn easy - Right click on the PenDrive after connecting to Windows PC and then select Format. Select NTFS and done.

The issue is that after doing so, my McBook didn't recognise the Drive. Why? Because my Mac reads only Fat32. lol. To transfer my Mac files I have to install 3rd part apps or format my Mac. I didn't go there yet.

Coming on to my phone. I use a OnePlus and it has a type C. Without formatting, using the drive was smooth. Once you plug in the device, OnePlus identifies the device and helps you copy paste from the phone to the USB and vice versa. After Formatting to NTFS, I had to install an ExFat app from PlayStore to ensure my OnePlus to read the device.

By now if you head is exploding, welcome to my world.

Finally, I have put off my efforts and decided to use this as a normal pen drive. Lol.

Default format is FAT32. However, to fully utilize such large USB drives, NTFS is far better.

For very large USB drives such as this 512GB Sandisk, the default FAT32 file system is inefficient. Also, most Android phones do not recognize file systems other than FAT32. A more efficient and secure file system is NTFS. NTFS is native to Windows 7-10 which form the bulk of the personal computer world.

But the fix for NTFS for Android OS is easy. Paragon Software's exFAT/NTFS for USB along with Total Commander installs seamlessly (I was able to, on my Samsung Galaxyy A70s). Sharing files between Windows PCs and this remarkable USB drive (such a small form factor) becomes a breeze.

Read speeds are as advertised (150MB/s) provided you're connected to a USB 3.0 or USB-C port. Write speeds through USB-C ports are also quite fast. I was able to see write speeds between 40 to 50 MB/s.

Overall verdict - A VERY GOOD BUY.

The product lives up to expectations in terms of speed and build quality but out of the two pendrives that I ordered one of them was opened and had fingerprint marks on the metallic body. Since it was working and I didn't want to get into the hassle of returning it, I decided to hold on to it.

Edit: I’m concerned about the long term durability of the device as it heats up to concern worthy temperatures with a few minutes of data transfer.

Small Metal bodied OTG pen drive

I have just got it on my hand with 114 GB (out of 128 GB) storage in FAT 32 format. The reason i needed this product is to find a transferable device among my Windows 10 PC and MacBook Air. As Mac doesn't support FAT 32 i had to format it in exFAT which has bigger cluster size (128 KB) and can be used with most of the devices i own.

Now, the things i like about this device are as follows

1. Small form factor with fully metal build.
2. OTG support with Type-C and USB 3.1
3. Fair price. I've got it for 1820 rupees. So, 455 rupees/32 GB. which is very good.
4.Speed:
I've connected it via USB 3.1 port. Copy speed is around 150 MB/s as promised.
The write speed is very tricky. If you just start writing on this device then
up to 1.1-1.2 GB speed is 66 MB/s, after that
up to 2.2-2.5 GB it writes at 37 MB/s and finally it comes down to 24 MB/s for rest of the transfer.
But, if you wait between copying small files, the buffer clears up and the write speed always rises up to 66 MB/s.
So, in a word FANTASTIC. Fastest pen drive at this price range.
5.With MAC i can use up to 123 GB where windows shows the same space as 114 GB. So, it matters only for
those who are bothered with the capacity of this drive.
6. As it is metal bodied, it dissipates heat very quick.
7. 5 years warranty is also very good.

For me there is NO NEGATIVE. But as a caution i would suggest to have a better electrical connection for your computer to avoid getting any shock while plugging/unplugging this drive.

Yes, it's really tiny & cute for a 1TB drive to fall in love with and that's all about it. The metal body gives it one major advantage of heat dissipation. Functionally it comes fat32 formatted out of the box. You can change it to exfat or ntfs for your likings, however none of those 3 formats gave me any satisfactory write speed as they claim. I often noticed it to dip below 5mbps while transferring my movie-music library(avg.-600GB), Specially while transferring multiple huge files.
Read speed indeed jump upto 150Mbps for a second or two, but drops downs to 30-40Mbps immediately.

Verdict-- I have successfully wasted 14K(for 1TB)thinking it could replace Samsung T7. Don't make the same mistake as I did

I have been using rigorously for over a month now.
Quantitative analysis may not give ever user a clear picture plus it has been done multiple times over already. Let me give a qualitative review:
+ Read speed is good. You will never have to wait for media files to open. Viewing large photographs and even movies is brisk.
+ Write speed is not slow by any measure, however, I can not even call it fast. It is decently quick if you are dealing with pdf or ppt documents. Writing images on the pen drive will take a fair bit of time and writing videos is definitely slow but the convenience of the task and the rarity of it perhaps does not make it a deal breaker for most.
+ pen drive does get hot to touch as it is a metallic one and not plastic, BUT contrary to popular belief it is actually a GOOD THING. If your flash drive gets hot to touch then it is a sign that the flash drive is able to bring the heat generated inside it to its surface and only then can it release the heat and maintain workable temperature and good speeds. Plastic flash drives do no get hot, which means they are not able to dissipate the heat generated in its hardware and hence their speeds are slower. Plus, this flash drive will never get so hot that it burns you, so what's the concern.
+ It looks fabulous and the build quality is the best one out there as compared to price range even much higher than this. The rotating cover moves smoothly and has stop point in default position that is so satisfying that you might end up playing with it :)
+ The size of this flash drive is not at all a problem for using with computer or laptop. For usage with mobile if your motive is to simply transfer files on the go then it is totally not a problem. Since movies are watched in landscape orientation, hence watching movies will also not be much of an issue after a bit of adjustment. I would obviously like it to be smaller but this size is also not a big problem for most usage. REMEMBER do not connect the flash drive to mobile and think of keeping it in your pocket and toss it in your bag, you will most like damage and your mobile's USB port too.

FINAL VERDICT: IF YOU ARE NOT SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT THE STATS AND EVERY DIGIT OF READ/WRITE SPEEDS AND COMPARE IT WITH OTHER PRODUCTS OUT THEIR TO THE DIGIT, THEN ... THIS PEN DRIVE WILL SURELY KEEP YOU HAPPY AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET PAYING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON IT. cheers!

Hi, I have purchased two 128GB pendrives. Both of them read only 114GB in Windows and 123GB in Ubuntu Linux and in mobile, implying that the actual size is only 123GB and not 128GB as advertised. This has nothing to do with the 1024^3 byte conversion factor in windows and the pen drive is having a TOTAL capacity of 123GB only.

Excellent build quality
Good read and write speed (35MB/s) in USB 2.0
No reported temperature rise even after half an hour of usage

Cons
Reduced size of 123GB
Format is FAT32 which is inefficient and has to be formatted in NTFS or exFAT. However exFAT is not suitable for Linux. Either format works in the mobile.
