Lazy writing and Confusing book with excessive copy-paste data from reports
26 August 2019
I picked the book because I am a Modi follower too but this has nothing to do with the book.
The book is first of all quite pricey for the size it comes in. It has Chetan Bhagat novel kind of size and I think is approx.30,000 words long only.
For the first fifty pages, the author talks about himself and builds a good introduction to amalgamating his thoughts with the concurrent political scenario.
You expect the book to get better but then the author gets lazy and starts copy-pasting reports, facts, figures, stats from several other reports and articles without any context or thinking.
I had to skip the last 100 pages because there was nothing in it.
I don't think the publishers even read the whole thing before deciding to go ahead with it.
The book has a subtitled as "An ex-communist's manifesto" and you expect that he will talk about his communist background and his transformation. first, he is not a hardcore communist which he himself mentions in the book. I think it just sounded good so he used it. Only the first few chapters and the last two chapters are the ones that do any justification for the title.
Indian authors write lazy books like this and then wonder why their books are not selling.
Barring first ten chapters, it is better you read answers on Quora then spend money buying this book.
