5.0 out of 5 starsWell researched, insightful & unique
21 October 2014
S. Hussain Zaidi, Sir, hats off to you for giving us the most realistic insights to mafia world, book after book. This is a unique book where the writer talks about lesser known women mafia. With intricate details, you just feel that you are in the world where these powerful women lived and breathed their dark lives. No wonder film-makers are attracted to these stories. While giving us details of real accounts of what happened and how, there is always a strong undercurrent of life messages that question and ponders the aspects of morality and human behavior. If you loved books like Shantaram, Black Friday, Dongri to Dubai, this is one of the better gems not to be missed.

2.0 out of 5 starsUninspired writing. Mediocre stories.
20 December 2017
While some stories are interesting, the writing by Zaidi is completely uninspired, repetitive and at times incredibly boring. The stories can't even be called decent character sketches. Imagined dialog is infuriatingly mediocre and reminiscent of C-grade movie scripts. While the book is really cheap, I didn't find it worthy of my two hours.

The book grips you from the first chapter itself. The author has made the underworld look so relatable to common people like you and me. I bet an avid reader will not be able to put the book down before finishing the entire book.

Very good presentation..you would feel as if you are watching a movie...pity so many people lost their lives chasing the illusory happiness in money through crime.

Really informative. Since it covers stories of almost 13 women, it has been written in a fast paced, easy to read way. Definitely an unusual & unique read

I'm a resident of Bombay and I was really fascinated by these stories about women in the underworld.
The narration is excellent and I got through the entire book in 2 sessions.
Highly recommended.

Zaidi saab rocks with his in depth know how of the underworld, its players, their idiosyncrasies and their towering ambitions. I have read his earlier works (Dongri to Dubai and Byculla to Bangkok) and this one too is in line with its overall excellent packaging.

2.0 out of 5 starsBook below my expectation
12 September 2015
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase
Well my review is more about the book. It is not so entriguing and explanatory as other books of Mr. Zaidi. It looks like the author has tried to cover too much in too less. All in all it is below my expectations after having read thru the authors other books like dongri to dubai, byculla to Bangkok, my name is abu Salem etc..
