This book is a recipe for happiness. The language is flowing; giving lovely details of the mountains, foliage and nature at its best. It makes good reading and you realise how the small small things in life can give you so much of happiness and contentment only if you look around. I could connect with the author. I love watching the leaves sway in the breeze and I love the chirping of birds, the sound of water flowing and the birds flocking around the bird feeder, mother birds feeding the young ones - where is the time to feel lonely? Lovely read; a must buy book. Worth every penny.
A must read for Bond fans and otherwise. The language is simple enough as always. This isnt a "philosophy" book.. more like the authors thoughts about the small things and observations in his surroundings he makes on a day to day basis. Like a day journal. Few thoughts inspire and few make you wonder about the authors simple life and the happiness he derives out of it. Amazing ! Its a 1-day read! I loved it ! Thank u amazon for quick delivery and pricing discounts as always !
Amazing book. Really life changing. Once you read it, your views towards life will change for sure. Through this book Ruskin Bond taught us to give importance to small things in life, those things will bring smile in your face and happiness too. Read this book to spend an awesome time with your imagination taking a slow but steady flight towards happiness.
Heard a lot about the writer but this is the first time am reading a book of Mr.Ruskin Bond. A Book of simple living ....is a must read... loved every page and of course the vision did spread out while cruising through the lines. Thanks Amazon for the excellent packing.
A truly soul soothing book ! As if words come to life - the beauty of mountains, trees, flowers, the experience of different seasons and the mundane days. Ruskin Bond in one of his notes rightly mentions that - "All matters at their heart are simple. Nor do we require too many words to reach to it and share"
Ruskin Bond is simply brilliant. The way he describes nature is amazing. It transfers one from the hustle and bustle of city life, to the lap of nature. Ruskin Bond never stops fascinating me with his scintillating and lucid style.
Opens your soul to little things in life.. to the soft unspoken nasturtiums..to the cacophony of rain over roofsheds..to the monotony of crickets..opens your heart to warmth of love..n innocence of childhood..loved every page of it.
Best book of simple things what one always feels day today but sometimes unable to put these feelings into words.T he book I always keep by my side .you can read these thoughts in small chunks according to available time and space.
The book sends tickles in your body. It appears you are feeling the moment and enjoying it just the way writer is. A must read to forget the daily trifles of life and recharge your soul from the comfort of nature. A soothing and rejuvenating effect.
