Please don't invest in this laptop
6 June 2019
The deal under which I bought this laptop was amazing. I bought this product at a discount of 25% which is a huge deal. An i7 gen 8 laptop at a price of i5 8 gen, it's a steal. However, once I bought the product, I came to realize why a company such as HP offer this big discount on their premier product. But the damage was done, I had the product in my hand. Within the first few hours, I set that baby up and it was working effortlessly (obviously the laptop was empty and brand new). The next day I was working on MS office and it started to heat up. The heating issue was so bad that had to quit typing as it was affecting my performance and the heat was able to reach the keyboards.
Later, it showed signs of battery drainage, loose touch-pad (you end up pressing something you didn't want to), unresponsive touchscreen and obviously the continuous heating issue. The keys doesn't respond to your impressions (not very often but it is there). You keep you laptop at 100% charge, remove the cable and keep it on sleep mode, the battery drains in 24-30 hours or so (isn't this laptop worth 100K?), my acer mini laptop worth 10K has a better battery life on sleep mode. Latency in booting up, well this is a new one, I bought this laptop keeping in mind the lightening speed performance (I have i7 gen 8). Well it turns out, it sometime takes 15-20 seconds from to wake up from its sleep. I am not taking about the hard reboot. Usually it takes 5-7 seconds. Which laptop worth this amount does that? Keep me posted.
Lastly the placement of key "Home" is just next to "Backspace" which is really annoying, you end up pressing that key when you plan to hit delete.
Verdict: The laptop is not recommended under any circumstance. Well if they give it to you for free, it's not a bad deal. But this laptop is not value for money.
