The book has unexpected turns
3 August 2018
The book recites and rejuvenate the saga of the mighty Cholas from the author’s point of view.
From building archeological jewels in honour of the Gods, and cities and monuments glorifying their victories to commanding one of the strongest naval fleet of their time- the Chola empire is flourishing.
But, at what cost?
At what cost are victories forged?
What keeps the tides of a turbulent victory alive?
Perhaps, everything that’s been crushed under it.
The author has shown us the story from the eyes of a prisoner of war, once a king and a princess abandoned by those close to her- left to struggle for her existence in this world of men.
The author gets you glued to his narration, almost immediately. But, couldn’t run abreast with his own narrative capacity all throughout.
The book has unexpected turns and most of the times it feels that they have done justice. But, at times it’s a narrow escape from a prosaic experience.
