5.0 out of 5 starsGood story with some interesting turns albeit with some padding.

Good old reacher as always. This story was in a much smaller scale than his previous adventures. There was a bit of padding here ane there that could have been reduced and one path of storyline left a bit unfinished but overall a good read for fans of reacher. If you're new to reacher then this isn't the book to casually pick up anyway.
I think Child needs to bring back Frances Neagley for an adventure with reacher as soon as possible. Probably the most interesting character aside from reacher himself....

1.0 out of 5 starsLee Child has lost interest in his character, and it shows

Jack Reacher fans can avoid this one. Very loose story, no compelling reason for his interference and doesn’t read like a Jack Reacher book. Lee Child has lost interest in his character and it shows. He’s just churning out titles for idiots like me who will buy a book with the hope of a rekindled true Jack Reacher book some day. This one is not it though.

The pace is crackling but the story is a mashup of old reacher stuff. Easy reading. Poor construct. I really wish mr child considered the period when reacher was on active duty for the next book. Its getting to be a drag.

I was struggling between a 4 or 3 star. But a 4 here would mean a disservice to his previous works.. There are passages in this book , where I get the feeling, Child has just padded the prose to stretch it to a full size novel. I guess all instruments dull with age. Child doesn't feel as sharp as he used to. His current literary arrows won't hunt down as many people..

After dishing out innumerable fantastic Jack Reacher books in the past, Lee Child has hit a roadblock. His last 4-5 books have been mediocre. This one is probably the worst of the lot. The only reason for going beyond one star rating was for sentimental value.

The five star is for the delivery and the agents
I am halfway through the book it seems okay for a read
I feel it’s time for Lee Child to take a break and write something else
He may end up denuding the brand value of reacher

Lee Child seems to have run out of ideas. Our favorite hero has been tamed. We want him back on a military base or investigating a serious crime.
No showdown. The bad guys are wimps. Extensive use of adjectives to pad up the book.

Ok so plot is weak but I don't read Lee Child JR series for the plot but for the narration which in this case is classic LC - JR creation. After a couple of years I have read a JR book which matches expectations built basis past series. Highly recommend this book.
