These beading threads are exceptionally strong, and do not break easily. The gold is closer to copper than yellow gold. I had an antique gold reel from a different purchase that I use for gold necklaces. This one I am reserving for a rose gold or coppery tinted necklaces.
If you are a first-time user like me, then here are a few tips: - You need wire cutters for these. Scissors just won't do. - Can't knot them either. You need to loop them into crimp beads. YouTube has plenty of tutorials. - They do not stretch, so give yourself enough extra length to end the chains on both sides. - The texture is on the stiffer side, and can be prone to kinks. I don't use these wires for stuff that needs a lot of manipulation or twisting.
