Smart looking mosquito net - but very sensitive to handle!
on 27 February 2017
After using the net for a 4/5days the zip on the left is not working. It is getting stuck at one point.
Therefore, I've to drag the right zip all the way to the left.
Unfortunately, such a long zip may not be available in the market for me to buy a new one. And even if I do, I do not think the tailors will be able to sew the new zip in this unusable product.
Although Royal Mosquito Net is innovative I want to make the following Sad & Happy points, as well as, Tips:
1 - The net is very delicate in comparison to the usual mosquito nets. It has to be handled carefully.
2 - The 4 corner stitchings at the base of the net is very, very sensitive. It can easily tear if it is stretched while moving the body during sleep, esp. the legs.
3 - The border at the base (which remains inside the "tent", as can be seen in the Image) is very thin. The border should have been folded a few times and stitched which could have resulted in a stronger 4 corner stitchings.
Wonder how this simple idea did not occur to the manufacturer?
4 - It'd have been convenient had there been openings on two sides - and not just one.
5 - I really wonder how to wash this sensitive and wired Net.
6 - Folding and Unfolding the net everyday will really be cumbersome and it may also result in more wear and tear.
7 - This mosquito net is totally IMPRACTICAL in comparison to to the traditional ones!
Just imagine searching for the zip handle in the dark to get in and out of the bed. And you've to do that with both hands. Children will surely find this totally cumbersome.
1 - The manufacturer is clever enough to attach 4 ribbons at the bottom of the 4 corners using which we can fasten the net (from outside) to the 4 corners of the bed, for stability.
2 - The net also comes with special accessories - Patches. Using these you can seal any tears on the mosquito net.
3 - This net is good only from the Portability point of view.
1 - Unfolding and Folding this mosquito net requires some practice.
To self-train yourself on this, open YouTube and type "royal mosquito net folding". Now repeatedly watch the short videos on how to fold and unfold this wired mosquito net.
2 - It is more practical and safe to let the mosquito net stay on the bed rather than fold it every morning and unfold it every night. This will prevent any wear and tear on the sensitive parts of the net.
Finally, I'd have been happier had the net been designed in a more robust way, with a slightly thicker net. I cannot believe that the stitches are so sensitive. I will update my post in keeping with my experiences in the near future.
