Great movie, great product!

And no, the aspect ratio is 4:3 (and thankfully so) and not 16:9 as mentioned in the details. Also, the running time is the full 171 minutes, not 150 as mentioned here. Presented in the original aspect ratio, the bluray of Deewaar is certainly an improvement over all other older presentations. The picture is sharp, and has a bit of grain as well, and the most important part - the audio is also very good. That's a relief, because just the other day I was feeling sad with the subdued audio of the Gol Maal BD. Looks like Eagle is putting in some effort to restore these old classics. Audio is a very important part of any film, so simply providing great-visuals doesn't work. And especially when the background music is done by the great Rahul Dev Burman! Deewaar boasts of a rich background score, which is as powerful as Salim-Javed's script and dialogues. And the BD release has done justice to the original score.
I look forward to seeing many more of the classics out on BD soon - Sholay (yes, with RD's original score, not the newly created one), Shakti, Amar Akbar Anthony, Kaala Patthar, and all of Satyajit Ray's great movies.
