I bought it to use with the Rode Lavalier microphone for use with DSLRs. It works perfectly fine and this has to be used with the mic. Meaning if you use an extension chord to connect the Rode mic to the camera or recorder, you plug the mic to female port of this adaptor and you plug the male portion of this adaptor to the extension chord. Thus the tiny wire length of this item does not matter much. The chord is thin & doesnt ooze confidence but works like a charm if you take care of it. Must have item if you buy a collar mic (esp. the Rode smart lav)
I have a cat who loves chewing anything that dangles or looks like a string or a rope. My cat has chewed two Macbook chargers, three or four pairs of expensive headphones and a couple other wires around the house. After throwing away and buying anew a couple of times, I started taping and using them because there was no point and my cat is my evil overlord.
I bought this because of my cat. He's chewed it alright but absolutely no damage. This is strong, durable and the quality of sound in the end is great, especially if used with their own mics. It's got stuck under heavy or rough metal furniture and survived. No other wire will do that. I have used it at crowded conferences, and because I was new to it, I let people trip over them a couple of times. That did nothing to them.
When to buy? When you are using rode mics, like Rode VMGO, rode Video Micro, rode VMPR plus and your video setup is such a way that camera is far away from audio source or you. This way you can use this extension cable to get that mic near you using boom pole or arm extension.
How to use it? Just simply plug in, adjust levels in camera for your mic and you are good to go.
Suitability ? Not with smrtphones, for smartphones you need trrs to trs extension, this is for rode mics to connect directly to camera and then to rode mics for longer distance.
Length ! Length is fine, i would not say too long but adequate.

I don't think there is much to say for this product as this is just a cable. And unless I burn it and open it, I can't say more for this product. Anyways, the cable worked perfectly fine with my Rode VideoMicro connected with my iPad, Windows Phone, Android Phone and iPhone.
As this is a very small accessory, there is not much to say about it. All I have to say is .... The quality is good. The connection is very good as it offers gold-plated connectors. The coiled design is really very practical. The main drawback about this is that....it is really an overpriced product. For a cable like this from the RODE brand the price of 400-500 is reasonable but it actually costs a whooping 900+ which is really disappointing.
Hope my review will help you purchasing a correct product.
Any 300 INr cable can not get u the same result... in terms of the interference. very well shielded cable. using it with zoom h1 and video mic pro... the difference between my h6 + NTG 4plus set up sound quality wise a slight behind,,,, but definitely that setup cost more than double . and if you are not comparing critically you will never gonna feel the difference after some post-production manipulation. and some how this cable plays a major role in that case , bkz with the other cheap cables I use to get a noise and interference and there is a sound quality difference also a bust in gain .
Sometimes expensive does mean great quality. I know this is not as cheap as some of the generic extension wires you might get out there but this is solid quality. You can tell by the build, material and little things like spiralled cord at the end to give it some play if you accidentally yank it.
It's Røde and it works with my Røde microphone so I record sound on my Galaxy S8, which has much better sound recording capabilities than my Canon 70D. Unlike many other international companies, such as Samsung, Røde does not produce inferior products for the Indian market and issues a Global guarantee so I can also take this product to a shop in Sweden and have it replaced if I have a problem with it.
The MRP is about rs1100. you may get it for quite a lot more so avoid buying because it's not worth that much, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do The PRODUCT IS GOOD but still overpriced at its MRP PROS Strong chord decent jack quality CONS Bad price
