Review of Philips Airfryer after using for it for 6 Months
on 9 March 2016
Well I bought this product in lightning deal for 8k. I was super excited when I bought it. However the experience with this Philips Airfryer is a mixed one.
1. Order experience was good and delivery was on time.
2. Packaging and condition of the product was as per standards.
3. The product works as described. It has a heating coil and a fan on top with a temperature nob and timer. A tray with pull to remove mechanism with a metalic mesh grill. All the function works as described.
4. So now why have I given it 3 stars:
i) The product is sold saying it fries with less oil and it's true but only to some extent as you cannot fry most of the fried stuff that Indians eat.
ii) You can mostly use it to make french fries period. That too is fast only if the quantity is less.
iii) I tried baking a lijjat papad it flew up and burned in contact with the coil. They should provide some guard below the coil to prevent such a situation.
iv) I did lot of search on Google and you tube to see what all can be cooked in a Airfryer. You may come across the videos by Vahshef it's a marketing gimic the onion pacodas cannot be cooked in this Airfryer.
v) You can also not use it to heat stuff (if you were wondering):P
vi) Tried cooking a Pizza it comes out very hard like a biscuit if you cook it for less time it'll be undercooked.
vii) Tried Paneer Tikka it was still OK.
That's all that I tried in it may be it's supposed to be like this only and I expected more but this is what I feel about this device. It's only an oven with forced draft ;)
