I have bought this camera a year and a half back, and over the period I have realized its potential. This is one of the best in its category and for its time. I will just try to put the Pros/Cons I have had based on my way of usage.
Pros - - Day time performance is almost flawless and picture come out very well in terms of clarity, color and details. - Since I use this to capture pics of my daughter most of the times, the Sport's mode pics come equally well as its hard to make children stay still for long :) - On days where I put this on a tripod and want photos auto-clicked, I would just enable the face detect feature, as soon as it gets a face in focus it would take the pic. - Indoor photos come very natural toned if u pull the flash towards ceiling to make the light reflect from top rather than flash throwing all light on the subjects. Again the movable flash makes it possible. - Again low light photos where flash is not possible or subjects are a little far, you can achieve good pic by switching to manual mode (though you need some knowledge of what setting to do and how as per the Envt.) Fo those who are really new, thye can chose modes like Aperture only/Shutter Only rather than full manual mode
Cons - - Not really much to complain on picture quality side, but the camera had to visit service center twice over 1.5 years due to lens Jam. Not sure if I am unlucky or its a problem in this model. Lets hope it does not die on me after 2 year warranty is over.
This Camera when used in its professional settings of using K mode for Light choice and A mode or S.....delivers superb takes..... Problem today is, the Phone Cams do a far greater job than ANY P&S Cam on market...... That being said, for a P&S handy Cam, this is great stuff. Plus, I also use Lightroom..... So get way better quality from the touch-ups... ONLY issue I found was, the A Mode really does not blur the background as its supposed to - Very disappointed cause years ago I had the Canon A-640 Powershot and despite not having those crisp tech. numerals, it blurred crazy good.....So good that I went in for DSLR back then..... This does none of that......
I purchased this for the reason of its Carl Zeiss lense as shown in the picture..but delivered camera with ZEISS. Very disappointed with the lense label and made in china label. Though I lost my excitement after seeing above but performance wise it is 100 pc satisfied. Can go for it...
It is almost perfect. Takes good pictures. The lens is great. Pictures are crisp and very clear. It doesn't cracks when enlarge. It small and handy. But it is a bit pricey being a generation older. The zoom is limiting. The newer version is better with 200 mm lens. The biggest issue for me has been the grip. Being used to an SLR, I have problems holding it with my fingers. It's tends to slip. Occasionally because of the grip issues the photo tends to shake. If you can fix it in a pod it's with be ok. One more thing it's a bit slow. For average user it is an excellent choice if zoom is not the restrictive point.
It has very nice performance in low light. For me It is far better from mobile, no compare with mobile in low light photos. I took around 3000 photos, camera and battery working great. I like the most Its pop up flash, work as surround light and gives great photo without any shadow.
Just two words can describe my experience with the camera 'Simply Amazing'. To elaborate on this, the camera has all you would want from ease of use to professional functions with the best picture quality I have seen so far. Pros: Amazing Picture quality Excellent Low light performance Easy controls Useful Photography Modes Professional functions/manual control that are easy to use as well Small size of the camera High quality display works amazingly well in bright sunlight as well Accurate autofocus Good battery life Sturdy built Good look and feel of the device
Cons: Fixed Display, cannot be tilted Zoom only 3x Cannot be connected directly with smart which I personally think is the biggest drawback No WiFi/NFC
At this price range this is a must buy. Absolutely no need for a DSLR unless you professionally shoot. I find the picture quality much better that that of most DSLRs which are also bulky and expensive.
