Unnecessary Political and Religious interludes
4 January 2019
There are parts of the book which are good. It is an interesting list of cricketers and some of the anecdotes are interesting. But the author brings in Political events and religious interludes into the narration. This was completely unnecessary and leaves a bad taste in many chapters. It is a cricket book - it should have been kept that way.
there are facts that are incorrect in the book. Laxman's 281 is written as 287. the 81 all out test is presented as 1998 when it happened in 1997. the publisher and the author should spend time to proof read the book. these are events that changed the direction of Indian cricket . you ought to get it right.
overall - despite some interesting stories and anecdotes, the book leaves a bad taste and annoys you.
