This book is one of the most authoritative text on "Arguably the most powerful outsider in Indian politics today." Normally, I don't read any type of political books but decided that I should in order to try and understand the current political climate in India. We get to know about RSS, an organization that hardly opens it's corridors to outsiders. We also come to know about the important role played by Mohan Bhagwat in keeping the Hindus together in Karnataka, Kerala, and Bengal. He has also penetrated the northeast and propelled BJP to power there. We also get to know about his childhood and how he was "born into the Sangh" as his grandfather and parents were all affiliated to the Sangh. We learn how the BJP was propelled to power in 2014 with a great deal of help from RSS and influencer-in-chief Mohan Bhagwat. This is an extremely well-written book and I highly recommend it to those who want to get insights into Hindutva and the equations between BJP and RSS. Overall, a gem of a book from one of the shrewdest political observers of our times, and a reference guide for contemporary historians.
