My background is that, I have been using docker for quite sometime (2+ yrs) and now, I am starting with Kubernetes at work. The book is a collection of notes for a newbie (click here, click there, and lo, you have the cluster up). The book does not try to explain what is happening, and even mentions that so and so is out of scope of the book more than a few times, and suggests looking up a webpage for more information at many places. The reason for purchasing a book is that, I wanted a quick explanation how and why of a technology, which can be got only after spending a lot of time with it. Sadly, the book does not deliver on that. If I had to lookup the information on the Internet, then there is no point in purchasing the book. From his foreword and introduction, it did look like the author has spent time on the technologies, but he's not shared his knowledge on the topic.
