Leave India to train in medicine and then come back to find that Malaria,Typhoid,TB,Filaria,Leptospira ,Brucella etc are a few disease that you need to read about ?? .Multiple sclerosis, about which you read everything to pass the exam doesn't show up.
This books helps, particularly, if you have worked in UK/Aus/NZ type of set-up.It covers all those common bread and butter diseases for a physician in Indian sub-continent.There nice tips and helpful hints on how to investigate in a resource poor setting and sometimes how to treat while waiting for a test result in an endemic area. The links to W.H.O websites are particularly helpful and makes you realize that WHO does do something useful.
I may have found it more useful because I like the Lecture notes series- ones in Medicine/Surgery/Haematology and Physical examination are particularly useful.
