A wholesome book that deals with the entire fauna of Nilgiri, interspersed with author's personal life. The book contains three parts, viz., 1) His upbringing in Trichy and his early experience with captive animals, 2) His shift to Niligari, where he had become a Shikar and then a dedicated photographer shooting wildlife with his camera rather than his gun & 3) Aftermath of his retirement in Padappai, a village near Chennai, where snakes are plenty. In Nilgiri Part (named as Cheetal Walk) the author has allocated each chapter for big game animals and his encounters with them. This apart, the author has narrated his attempts to conserve Nilgiri Tahr; his creation of private Elephant corridor; his working with world renowned wildlife experts and conservationist.
