“Life is only precious because it ends, kid”
Son of Neptune (Heroes Of Olympus #2) follows Percy Jackson as we wakes up from his long sleep, not even knowing his name. Then, he is chased by two gorgons (siblings of Medusa) to Camp Jupiter, a camp for Roman demigods. Thereupon, he is sent on a quest with two other demigods- Frank Zhang and Hazel Levesque who have secrets of their own- to free Thanatos- God of Death. Also, they have to kill a giant, who cannot die in his homeland, to stop Gaia (Mother Earth, who's the bad guy here) from awaking fully.
So, I'm going to be honest with y'all and say that yes, for a couple of hundred pages this book was so unexciting and dull. But then, it picked up so well that I had to finish the remaining two fifty pages in two days (mind you, I'm not that fast a reader).
This book was filled with unexpected bursts of laughter, sarcasm, plot twists, page turning thrill and of course more humour because, come on, it's Rick we talking about.
I'm so glad I have already stocked up the rest of the series so that when I finish one book I can immediately start the next one.
So, pick this book up if you're looking for fiction, fantasy, thriller, humour and a whole lot of other genres.
