A mindblowing account of what is an what could be. Michio Kaku calls himself a "popularizer of science" and he is that for sure! This book takes you through the journey of the life of a tar, it takes you through blackholes and time warps, it transports you to literal "parallel worlds" and it gives you possibilities of the human race that will boggle your mind.
Kaku's language is free flowing, and for a layman like me who looks up in wonder at the vast cosmos wanting to understand what science does and thinks of it, this is one book that will take you on an unforgettable journey. He also throws in generous dollops of history of earthly scientists, their lives and their times, bringing cosmology that much closer to the reader.
The possibility of a civilization escaping to a new universe as pure beings of consciousness - the book will tingle your theology and beliefs, it will open you up to a myriad of possibilities that, put together, will leave you slightly numb, if enlightened. Go read it.
