27 October 2017
The Unexpected Guest is a story revolving around the death of an old man in a lonely bungalow at South Wales.A man who has his car caught up in a ditch just near the house, enters into the house and finds the dead body along with a charming woman with a gun in her hand. She claims to be the murderer. The guest helps her plot a cover-story in coorelation to an event that took place a few years ago.The question is that why has she murdered him and if she has not, then who is the real killer and why is she covering him/her.The house is full of suspects.
This book has a simple language,a neat plot and very expressive dialogues. This was actually a play and has been beautifully novelised by Charles Osborne.Morever,it is not too lengthy and has many gentle twists and turns which will keep you hooked till the end.Lastly,be prepared for an unpredictable climax.
This book is recommended to all Christie fans, classic crime novel readers and anyone whom the plot interests !!
