That said THE SCREEN ACTUALLY WORKS!!! - THOUGH PERHAPS IT APPEARS BRIGHTER THAN USUAL, but I may be mistaken after months with a broken screen. However, it is not a negative. The resolution seems equal to retina display for me, the fine details (~1/4 of mm lines) are easily distinguished are straight lines - no pixelation seen. If the the screen size had been exactly the same I would have given 5 stars, pending no further issues.
In addition to these tools I recommend getting forceps to handle the screws and connecters. I followed the ifixit written step-by-step instruction. I recommend doing this on a large surface with a box cover lid (I used an ipad box cover) with a blank paper insert to hold the screws etc. Use a pen to note and demarcate on the blank paper the step and the screws lengths plus any removed items. Those complaining about short connector ribbon are mistaken, they didn't pull the ribbon fully through - the connector lengths are fine!
If you're interested in just a working screen replacement - technically this does the job. But I'm still peeved about the screen size not exactly matching the original, but hey it actually works well and otherwise looks decent.
*** NOTE *** make sure you line up the home button correctly before putting the phone back together. I failed to do this and ended up with a button that wouldn't press cleanly. I had to re-open everything back up to fix this before getting everything as good as new. I found a good online tutorial video and a printable sheet that I could tape parts and screws onto with each step of the disassembly. I'd recommend that everyone find both of these as well.
I've used this screen for about a month now and I'm dropping my rating to two stars. One day I noticed a crack in the screen, I didn't drop it and I'm not even sure how it got there. Maybe I banged it on the car door when I got out? Whatever the case, my original screen went through hell and never did that.
Also there is a blob that has developed on the screen blocking the battery percentage number. To be fair, I had the phone in my glove box on a very hot day and something may have been pressing on that very spot for a couple of hours so this is my fault to a point. Once again, my original screen went through hell and never did this.
This screen seems to crack more and get worse everyday which really sucks because its a pain to dissect the phone (tiny, tiny screws!) down that far to get at the screen. Can't recommend it to anyone unless your in a pinch and extremely careful with your phone (otter box case, never drop it, and keep it safe aaallllllllllllllllllll the time).
The tools that came with this package worked very well.
