Out several gaming keyboards I've purchased in the past, this is my second mechanical keyboard. I'm just going to describe what I liked about this keyboard and what I didn't.
Likes :- > Very soft key press. > Very responsive. > Highly customizable back light. > A very good looking design. > Roller for sound control.. oh yeah ! very useful for me. > Excellent build quality > Control center software lets you get the most out of this keyboard.
Things I didn't really like so much about this keyboard. > Sound of key press sounds bit too clicky... somewhat like crushing a disposable plastic cup. > No home key. People like me who are very used to HOME and END key may need some getting used to. > Button are bit too small compared to a regular keyboard with an unusually large space bar. People with fat fingers may find it bit hard to type fast without accidentally hitting the nearby keys. > No wrist rest.
Despite the things I mentioned in the dislikes, I still like this keyboard very much. The main purpose of this keyboard is gaming so it's designed as such.
It is a great value for money for product and there is no saying about performance. Pros: 1. Build quality is great 2. RGB lighting is awesome 3. Super Responsive 4. Roller for Sound Control is great 5. Switch caps are smooth to touch 6.Built in USB port. To use the built in port we need to connect another USB cable apart from keyboard one which is mentioned on the cable (braided). So to use keyboard and built in port both the USB cables should be connected to PC. And many more Pros. Cons: 1. HP Omen should provide independent software for this keyboard. Software is Internet dependent and doesn't work like some other software's from other manufacturer's. Without Internet you cannot change the settings. 2. Opto-Mechanical Switches are great , big keys like spacebar and shift keycaps will loose stability slightly while pressing continuously. But still As they are Opto-Mechanical Switches we don't need to apply much pressure on them. Packaging: I was shocked at seeing how amazon sent this. Delivery guy carried the Package like a rice bag. Previously I bought a keyboard from amazon ,in that case I was surprised because they sent it inside a big package with air packets. Dents on the OMEN Box were found. But ,regardless of con's and amazon delivery, I really love this keyboard, A great one to buy at ₹6499/-
Because I bought the product for a mere low of 4.5k inr, and even for the standard 6.5k inr the keyboard is, it is definitely a steal and absolute value for money. This keyboard was launched @180$ (12000) in the US. Thence, adding only around 1k to your budget will take you at a new level of gaming keyboards.
For the ➕, + It comprises opto mechanical switches, latest evolution to gaming keyboards + Clicky and tactile feel is present. +Well built with volume roller, and aluminum plate polish top. +16.8M individually coloured RGB keys.
For the ➖, - Keys have some flex to them, they wobble slightly. -Individual rgb lighting is a ticket enough for a lot more customization than Omen center currently offers, coming from superbly crafted Razer Synapse, the OCC felt customization-features lacking. -The space bar and volume roller bar are oversized and can cause problems for some users. -The clicking sound may be loud for some users, and feel of spacebar is not as good as other keys, maybe due to it's oversize.
In a jist amazon India is actually selling is cheaper than com site. And this cost is an absolute steal for the quality the keyboard is. But it lacks complex customization for its lighting, but it's a software thing, and can be updated via a patch. Must buy!
Why??Cause it uses optical Mechanical Switches which gives you 40% faster response time. It works by breaking a laser line inside the keyboard, thus giving more tactile feedback and better response. Also the Actuation force on this keyboard is 40g which gives you to response faster in games like fortnite,Pubg and Csgo. This is just A review and I myself have not used it.I am just providing a comparison of Optical Mechanical Switches against Normal Mechanical Switches. You can find its reviews by tech youtubers on YouTube. Thanks for Reading this.
