I was having quick heal installed on my laptop. The original pack brought from a store in kolkata allowed me to install it on two devices. I never installed in a second device. Everyday QH would give me a message to extend the validity. My order for the renewal CD from Amazon arrived quickly. I waited till 4 days were left for expiry. Then I opened the CD sent by Amazon and inserted it in the drive. But this displayed all the files in it including a user manual which helped me. Actually after a few initial trials to install the exe files, I realised that nothing was happenning though I could feel the CD whirring in the drive. In the popup from the original installation, I was informed that if I installed before expiry, two months extra validity would be given. Then the popup also displayed 'renew now', which matched with the inbuilt manual in the CD. Clicking this option took me to a screen which asked for the renewal key. The key is printed on the inside of the CD cover. The letters and numericals were not case sensitive. My internet was connected at this point. When I punched in the key, it was accepted, and in the next screen it displayed my email id and phone number and asked for name of buyer, which I did writing Amazon India. It also asked me to check or modify information about my registered email id and phone number. Clicked next and the message appeared that renewal was successful and indeed two extra months validity beyond 3 years was given up to end of 2021. Process was hastle free but there are two questions that remain unanswered. 1. Was the CD required for renewal or just the renewal key? What then is the role of the CD? 2. Since I did not register a 2nd device though in the original purchase I had the option to do so, can I add a device now and use the CD to renew it for 3 years?
