Top critical review
good if you want to prepare only
13 December 2015
I really appreciate the great deal of things and details written in the book. But I found only starting part of book interesting where gmat, course contents are explained and the last part which is about preparations. Personally, I have never worked in IT, investment banking or finance or such sectors. I belong to the oil and gas industry. I believe every education is useful But traditonally we are taught that we go to engineering or schools for certificate and real education is real life. True but not completely because the school and college books were written on what they found in real life just the language is sofisticated. I sincerely feel after reading this book is that 5-6 years is merely a start of career in any sector and no one knows any industry at all. 5-6 years is still a kid you can shape however you want. So it is not a right experience for MBA. The author himself spent 10-11 yrs working before school. So in my opinion, the missing message in the book is when one is working in any industry on start position spend time to get familiar with business language and how business is done. read books on people who were successful or getting successful and as magazines or newspapers mentioned at the end of the book. I found this book not very encouraging and so at some chapters I did not even bother to read every sentence. I prefer traditional education and books more which inspire. Even dhirubhai accepted failures before reliance so certainly schools are not perfect. But all we are trying to learn in MBA school is how to think and implement. I feel that message is lost in the book. Book is written as if we speak but sometimes very negative.
