A great classic to be had in every personal movie library

The movie is a classic - an amazing true story told brilliantly in a span of 217 minutes. Even after watching it many time the storyline still moves you into believing in the indomitable spirit of man and the power of collective will.
The transfer into blu-ray format is very good and really brings out the colors and detail in each frame. The directors cut is more or less the theatrical version of the movie. The action sequences are impressive and shot without any special effects making it even more commendable for a movie made in the 1957. I have been so impressed with the movie that I even made a trip to Jordan's Wadi Rum just to travel across the sites this movie was shot.
Ok, now for the bad - this is the Indian version made and marketed by Sony DADC, India, which in its infinite wisdom copies the covers of the international version Anniversary Edition but fails to include the special features. The special features in this include the interactive 'Secrets of Arabia' but does not have Peter O'Toole's interview reminiscing about the shooting of the movie. It also excludes the 'Making of Lawrence of Arabia," a nine-minute conversation with Steven Spielberg about the impact of the film on his career, and four short vintage documentary featurettes about the rigors of location shooting; one of the shorter items, Wind, Sand and Star: The Making of a Classic. These are available internationally in the 2-disc version. So if you must and can - buy the international version coz Sony DADC will cut you short.
