The writing style is easy and engaging

Thumbs up to Kiran Doshi for this one. Although the plot is weaved in fiction, Desai puts in a lot of thought to make it an informative and enriching experience. As an Indian I was initially quite wary of purchasing a book that had Muhammad Ali Jinnah graciously adorning its covers ( :p). But this turned out to be a very pleasant surprise indeed. The writing style is easy and engaging, you could go on and on without feeling tied down at all and that's all thanks to the plot which Desai chooses to portray- no less interesting than the partition era, though mostly centered around Bombay. Be ready to get a fresh perspective on Jinnah, who I think was one of the most misunderstood and misconstrued man during Independence. The packing and delivery were immaculate as usual and the book reached me without any damage.
