This book covers the alcoholic beverages from a historical viewpoint. It makes for good (not captivating) reading if your are keen on knowing the origins and other milestones in the development of rum, whisky, wine etc. Having a background in alcoholic beverage studies, I found this book pretty average. General readers be warned, that this book might come across as a bit dry in some parts. On the other hand, a reader of this book will benefit from being the source of some interesting anecdotes in symposia (drinking and deliberations)!
