“The Best Mistakes Of My Life” by the veteran actor Sanjay Khan is a coming of age story. It portrays a life of young boy who dared to dream and finally achieved it all through hard work and nobility. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found it captivating. The book is divided into different segments which allows the reader to the follow the pace smoothly. The language used is straightforward and coherent which again helps the reader to grasp the zist. Book also contains vibrant pictures of his family and with other celebrities, a visual delight.
However I would have preferred Sanjay to reveal the names of some of the characters he mentions in his autobiography, for instance the actress who wanted to marry him or the actor who trespassed his house at midnight with an intention to kill him. Nonetheless all these incidents and characters make an interesting read and one can understand why he chose not to disclose the names.
Especially poignant is the segment where he talks about the fire tragedy during the making of his magnum opus “ The Sword Of Tipu Sultan”. The sheer horror and gravity of the entire accident made me realize the risks that undergo to make legendary production like ‘The Sword Of Tipu Sultan’.
I as a reader came to know about Sanjay Khan in great deal through his autobiography perhaps which I consider is the endeavor behind any autobiography. There is no sensationalization or sleezy gossip in the book which I feel is true to Sanjay’s character.
I highly recommend this book to readers who are expecting an engrossing and entertaining read.I found all the pages to be riveting and helped me to know about a actor who is forever etched in mind as the great Tipu Sultan. I surely enjoyed reading” ‘The Best Mistakes of My Life.”
