10 gripping stories of abduction, revenge and ransom, journalist Arita Sarkar’s debut novel
is a well-researched and painstickingly documented book. True to her profession, Sarkar weaves in voices from all those associated with the horrific incidents - the victim’s families, the police, the accused and the lawyers - in a very carefully constructed detailed narrative. At the very start of the book, she also presents statistics highlighting the urgent need for the state and the society to prioritise on safety of children. At the end of each story, Sarkar provides a small, but poignant take on the story or on how she approached it, which is insightful for a reader.
