A delightful story filled with facts for bird and national park lovers. The author takes the reader along on the train journey to the park, the sights, and the people you meet there, with a comfortable familiarity of someone who has done many such trips along with children. The photos and descriptions of birds are a wonderful introduction to the subject, with a bit of adventure thrown in to quicken the pace. I particularly liked the feel of the paper, the illustrations, and color photos, which Salim Ali's books sadly lack, thanks to older technology. Am saving this book to read to my grandchildren.
The book while meant for children had me from the get go. With an easy to read style it creates a journey which the reader feels every bit a part of. The engaging animations, the fun filled facts and the statistics make for an enthralling novel. I wolfed through Chaos at Keoladeo and promptly gifted it to a friends 11yr old daughter. Now have to buy it for my own nephew who I know will totally want to go to Keoladeo post the book.
I read this recommended through a friend who knows I love nature. Fabulous way to integrate the lives of birds, bees and everything so stunning about the country we live in. She references Salim Ali and takes kids on a joyful tour across. Definitely recommend for children and adults who want on a joyous adventure. Complemented with pictures and illustrations that add much joy! :)
