I would recommend this book, it well written there is no chapter where the readers are left off its gripping. The book is not only about cricket and MSD, its about how he behaved outside the field and how he keeps his family and close friends in touch always. There are couple of takeaways in this book too. That no matter who you are never fear to try anything and MSD is that.
Wonderful book about MS Dhoni and how he's changed Indian cricket, with perhaps the best decoding of his hair! This is a great book to understand how Dhoni has brought his own vision and ideas to Indian cricket. If you want to become a leader like MS Dhoni, read this book now!
The Dhoni Touch: unraveling the Enigma. Unravel means removing the knots which are tied and Enigma meant someone who is difficult to understand. So, it is all about knowing the most difficult person. Well, Bharat Sundersan sir has done that better.
Right from the foreword by Ravi Shastri till the author's note at the end, every word in every page gives you a goosebump if you are Mahendra Singh Dhoni sir's fan like me.
"This is not the story of where he has come from or where he's reached. It's about how he got there". These are the opening lines and I think I don't need to comment on that.
After reading the book, I am sure you would thank Bharat sir as well as Mahi sir for presenting us with such an amazing read.
I had read other MS Dhoni Books, but this one is my favorite. Bharat Sundaresan had plotted this book over 10 chapters each with interesting story about Ms dhoni like his Hair Style, Captaincy and Out of form Criticism. Got at Rs.99 only.
The book appears to be the extension of my favourite movie m s Dhoni . Very well written. Liked the journalist handling of Dhoni and what went during IPL and fixing allegations in Dhoni and how he handled it in his own way...
The definitive book to know Dhoni. His military life, knowledge about various weapons were never revealed before this. His confrontation with selectors/couches & management are eye opening. Do not expect word by word closed door conversations only the gist/abstract of those are reveleaed(obviously).
I always wanted someone to cover this enigma on our Dhoni! I loved the book throughout! It was a breezy read! There are many untold stories I feel! By those who are disappointed by the movie a little, This covers it up as it did for me!
I liked the way his personality was captured via real life incidences , memorabilia and anecdotes from his peers , family , friends and specially the army . The writing part could have been more coherent though as it leap frogs at times and appears a hurried piece of work .
Very fluid writing which always keeps you interested in the narration. Establishes / Validates the perception of how much grounded Dhoni is despite of his meteoric rise. The book also highlights, which even Rajdeep highlights in Democracy XI of how elusive Dhoni has been to the media. The book has very interesting anecdotes of the working of Dhoni’s mind from winning the ICC Twenty20, to Commonwealth series in 2008, and his understated celebrations just to shock the opposition! His approach to seniors in the team, managing the Juniors. His like for the Indian Army and his dedication and fascination is obvious. However, what strikes is his camaraderie and willingness to be identified with the Jawans! The man comes across as so sure of what he wants from life and doesn’t have any insecurities. Wish we all could emulate him in our lives!
In the end the Man still is an Enigma and Bharat’s attempt to unravel him fails :).
