Very nice stories, perfect for reading to children. My daughter selects a story based on the illustrations and I read it out to her. Very simple English is used. I think Kids above 6 would be able to read it themselves.
This book brought me fond memories with my grandmother. And I wanted to retain that magic with my kids. I read the stories one by one myself, then read them in parts to my children at bedtime.. and then re-told them in my own way to let the message sink in.. They enjoyed it! My kids are 9 & 5..
Excellent collection of stories. Very well put together by Sudha Murthy. Each story builds up an air of curiosity for the reader and teaches a valuable lesson at the end. It's fun and entertaining for kids and adults equally.
My 7 year old liked it so much that she picked a story from it for her story telling contest at school and won the first prize too... we are buying the rest of sudha murthy books now... she reads on her own now
Very good story book for little ones. Maybe age 5 and above will be able to grab the meanings. Very lucid grammer used. Really good. Age 8-9 onwards will be able to read by him/herself. Few well drawn black and white pictures are there along with the stories. Highly recommended.
Awesome book for kids. Multiple short stories within a story. That too with social message. Well written in simple language. Also introduces kid to village life, and simple things that brings us Indian together.
