    Balance consists of two different components which are Money and Gifts & Credits. Therefore, total Amazon Pay balance= Money + Gifts & Credits.

    Money is a new feature of Amazon Pay balance, which allows you to add funds and use the same at in and partner websites & apps in a simple and convenient manner. This is separate from amount lying in your Amazon Gift Card balance which is shown under Gifts & Credits within Amazon Pay balance.

    Funds can be easily added to Money in Amazon Pay balance through a Credit/Debit card or net banking, which can be used to make payments on and partner websites & apps. There are many more exciting features in the pipeline as part of Money offering.

Adding/Loading Money

  1. How can I top up my Amazon Pay balance?

    You can top up funds to your Amazon Pay balance from the Amazon Pay section.

  2. What are the payment methods using which I can top up Amazon Pay balance?

    You can top up your Amazon Pay balance using a credit/debit card issued in India or through net banking. In addition to this, you may be provided the option to load Amazon Pay balance: Money by ‘cash’ at doorstep through Amazon Transportation Services Private Limited (“ATSPL”) registered at Eros Corporate Tower, Eros Plaza, Ground floor, Opp. Nehru Place Metro station, Nehru Place, Delhi -110019.     Please note you will not be able to use an existing Amazon Gift card or any card issued outside of India to top up funds to Amazon Pay balance. EMI, Prepaid/Virtual bank cards or combination of electronic methods of payments such as Credit/Debit cards with Cash on delivery is not supported to top up Amazon Pay balance.

  3. Is there any restriction on the amount I can load in Amazon Pay balance?

    As mentioned above, Amazon Pay balance consists of two components, i.e. Money and Gifts & Credits. Load limits for both of these components are explained below:

    Money: The monthly Load and Spend limit is capped at Rs. 10000. The minimum amount for a top up has to be Re. 1. However, in a financial year you can load as much as Rs. 1,00,000 to Money in Amazon Pay balance.

    For example: If you have a carry forward balance of Rs. 6000 from December to January, you will be able to load up to Rs. 4000 in January leading to a total balance of Rs. 10,000 (max limit). However if you use some of the balance from December, say Rs. 6000 then you will be able to load an additional Rs.6000 in the month.

    Gifts & Credits: There is no monthly load or spend limit, however the maximum amount that can be added in a single top-up is Rs. 10000.

  4. How much time does it take for a top up to be credited to Amazon Pay balance?

    Typically a top up gets credited instantly, however in some cases it can extend up to 15 minutes.

  5. Are there any charges for Top up/usage of Money in Amazon Pay balance?

    No, there are no charges involved in topping up Money in Amazon Pay balance.

  6. I am unable to register for Amazon Pay balance

    Please check if you have entered a valid name, it should not contain any numbers or special characters. Also please check

    If you see an error ‘number already in use’, or 'OVD ID already exists' then it means the number/OVD ID you are trying to register is already associated with another account. Please contact us to help you further.

  7. I am unable to add Money to Amazon Pay balance

    This could be due to following reasons:

    • You may have breached your load limit for the month. You can go this page to review.
    • You may have not updated you officially valid document ID. You can visit this page to verify it. In order to update please go to this page.

  8. I am unable to pay using Amazon Pay balance

    This could be due to following reasons:

    • Check if your Amazon pay balance is sufficient for the total payable amount i.e. order value + shipping charges

  9. My total available Amazon pay balance is not visible on payment page

    This could be due to following reasons:

    • You may have breached your Money redeem limit, hence only balance in Gifts & Credits will be available for usage.

Usage and Expiry

  1. Can I choose between Money or Gift & Credits to pay for an order?

    When your Amazon Pay balance has funds available in both Gifts & Credits and Money, the funds available as Gifts & Credits will first be used on any payments. Money balance will be used for payment only when the Gifts & Credits balance is exhausted.

  2. Where can Amazon Pay balance be used?

    Amazon Pay balance can be used to buy anything from our over 3 crore products on and partner websites & apps, except for Amazon Global Store items, Gift Cards and precious jewelry.

  3. Where can I keep a track of all my Amazon Pay balance transactions?

    You can keep a track of all transactions done on Amazon Pay balance account anytime by using the "View Statement" feature under "My Account" section. Click here to access it now.

  4. Does Amazon Pay balance expire?

    Money: There is no validity period for the Amazon Pay balance: Money, however, Amazon may choose to impose a validity period as and when required and mandated by the regulator.

    You shall receive periodic reminders before this happens on your email and mobile. Please check our terms and conditions for more details.

    Gifts and Credits: The funds will expire in 12 months from the date of issue of Gifts and Credits. Your Amazon Pay balance statement has a Gifts & Credits Expiry Dates section which displays the list of your gift cards expiring next. You can always track your gift cards expiry from here.

    Gift card expiry can be extended. Please contact us if you would like to request for renewal.

  5. Can I use Amazon Pay balance in combination with another prepaid instrument to make payments on and partner websites & apps?

    Only if the amount in your Amazon Pay balance is not sufficient to make payment for an order, you will be able to pay for the remaining amount using a credit/debit card or Net Banking.

  6. Can I set up a limit on the amount that I can spend from my "Money in Amazon Pay balance"?

    Yes, you can set up a limit on the amount that you can spend from your Money in Amazon Pay balance. This can be done in two ways:

    • Set up a limit on the amount you can spend per transaction.
    • Set up a limit on the number of transactions you can make per day.

    • This limit cannot exceed your default monthly spend limit which is Rs.10000.
    • This limit cannot be applied on the 'Gifts and Credits' component of your Amazon Pay balance.

Returns and Refunds

  1. If I returned an order placed through Amazon Pay balance, how would I get the refund?

    The refunds will be processed to your Amazon Pay balance.

  2. If I am returning an order placed with a credit card and Amazon Pay balance, how will my refund be processed?

    Refund will be processed to the respective payment methods used on the order. The amount paid from credit card will be refunded to the same card and the rest will be refunded to your Amazon Pay balance. The credit card refund take upto 5 business days.

Electronic transfers

  1. Can I transfer money from my Amazon Pay balance to my bank account?

  2. Can I transfer my Amazon Pay balance - Money to a different Amazon Pay balance account?

    Currently it isn't possible to transfer funds form your Amazon Pay balance to a different Amazon Pay balance account.

Customer Identification

  1. What happens if I don't link an official ID number Amazon pay balance - Money account?

    In such case, you will not be able to load amount to Money in Amazon Pay balance, but will be able to use existing balance if any.

  2. Is it safe to add my official ID on Amazon?

    Your official ID details are stored on a secure, dedicated database and access to the data is restricted. In addition, our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information so that it cannot be read as the information is sent to us.

  3. What happens to my gifts and credits balance?

    This doesn't impact your gifts and credits balance. You can continue to load gifts and credits to your Amazon Pay balance.

  4. The delivery associate requested for a '4-digit Confirmation Code' to be shared for processing my cash-load, where do I find this?

    • If you haven't provided your valid government issued ID details on the website yet, provide the same via the link to obtain the '4-digit Confirmation Code'. This 'Code' can be shared with the delivery associate to enable cash-load.
    • However, if you had already provided the ID details earlier in the day, then this 'Confirmation Code' can be found on the 'Amazon Pay > Account Settings Page' (click here) on the Mobile App or Website. The 'Confirmation Code' would also have been shared with you over email & SMS.

  5. I want to change the official Id that I've provided, how can I do that?

    You can change or update the official ID already provided through the account settings option, under Amazon Pay.
