  1. What is Guaranteed Exchange Price Program?

    Guaranteed Exchange Price Program ("Program") is a program pursuant to which you get a guaranteed exchange value for your smartphone. This guaranteed exchange value can be availed as a discount on the next smartphone you purchase on Amazon.in.

  2. How can I participate in the Program?

    The Program is only available in respect of select smartphones. To participate in the Program, you must purchase the guaranteed exchange price policy ("Policy") at the time of purchase of your first smartphone which is eligible for the Program ("First Smartphone"). At the time of purchase of your next smartphone ("Second Smartphone"), provide the brand, model and IMEI number of the First Smartphone, along with which you purchased the Policy, on the product page of the Second Smartphone and the guaranteed exchange value will be applied as a discount on the Second Smartphone.

  3. What are the benefits of the Program?

    The Program allows you to insure the future exchange value of your First Smartphone purchased on Amazon.in. When you participate in the Program, you are upfront guaranteed a future exchange value for the First Smartphone. You will get the promised exchange value as an instant discount when you exchange the First Smartphone for your next one on Amazon within a pre-defined duration. For those who like to keep up with the latest smartphone trends in the market, purchasing the Policy allows you to upgrade your smartphone within 6-15 months at lower costs. With the guaranteed exchange value, you get peace of mind. Concerns on device performance and resale value should no longer dissuade you from buying that smartphone you always wanted to try. On purchasing the Policy along with the First Smartphone, you can get the guaranteed exchange price on purchasing the Second Smartphone between 6-12 months from the date of delivery of the First Smartphone. Few Policies may allow you to get a guaranteed exchange price for up to 15 months from the date of delivery.

  4. Can I participate in the Program without purchasing a smartphone?

    No, you can only participate in the Program if you purchase the Policy along with your First Smartphone in the same order. The Policy cannot be purchased independently.

  5. If I buy my smartphone from another website or retail store, can I become eligible for the Program?

    No, the Program is only available for select smartphones which are purchased on Amazon.in itself.

  6. I do not want to participate in the Program anymore? How do I cancel my participation?

    You can cancel your participation in the Program before the shipment of the First Smartphone along with which, you purchased the Policy. Login to your account and find the cancel option on the relevant order under the "Your Orders" tab to cancel the Policy and your participation under the Program. You cannot cancel your participation once the First Smartphone has been shipped.

  7. What happens when I cancel/return my First Smartphone?

    When you cancel/return your First Smartphone with which you had purchased the Policy, the Policy will automatically get cancelled. You will be refunded the price you paid for the Policy. Resultantly, your participation under the Program will get cancelled.

  8. I bought the First Smartphone today and got a replacement phone after 10 days. From when does my participation in the Program go live?

    Your participation in the Program will go live from the time the replacement smartphone gets delivered to you.

  9. Can I transfer my participation under the Program to someone else?

    No, the participation under the Program is non-transferrable. Your participation under the Program will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Program, the Policy and will be restricted to the First Smartphone (identified by its IMEI number) that you purchased along with the Policy under the Program. You can only avail benefits under this Program if the First Smartphone and the Second Smartphone are ordered from the same Amazon.in account.

  10. Can I redeem the benefits/ avail the guaranteed value before the Policy period begins?

    No, you can avail the benefits of the Policy only once the Policy period begins.

  11. How will I know the duration of my participation under the Program?

    Your participation in the Program will go live from the time the smartphone gets delivered to you. Upon delivery of the smartphone, you will receive an email confirmation from Amazon.in which confirms the details of the smartphone, the IMEI number and specific duration for which the Program is available for you

  12. My participation in the Program expired on September 1, 2019. Can I reactivate it?

    No, you cannot re-activate your participation under the Program. You cannot avail the guaranteed assured value on your First Smartphone after expiry of your participation under the Program.

  13. Do I have to compulsorily exchange the First Smartphone I purchased?

    No. You can choose to keep the original smartphone with you and not avail the guaranteed exchange value. Refer to FAQ 2 to know how to avail this value.

  14. Do I need to return the original box, charger and accessories along with my First Smartphone?

    Yes, to avail the guaranteed exchange value under the Program, you need to return the original box, charger and accessories along with your First Smartphone.

  15. I lost the box of the First Smartphone but I have all the other accessories. Would I still be eligible to avail the guaranteed exchange price under the Program?

    No, to be able to avail the guaranteed exchange value on your Second smartphone purchase, you must hand over the First Smartphone, original box, charger and other accessories (if applicable).

  16. If I shift from current address to another, can I still avail the benefits of the Program?

    You can avail the benefits under the Program only if the pin code of the delivery address for the Second Smartphone is the same as the pin code of delivery of the First Smartphone and the Policy. Additionally, the exchange program (currently running on Amazon.in) should also be available on such pin code. If the exchange program is unavailable on this pin code, you will not be eligible to avail the benefits under the Program (even if the pin code of delivery of the First Smartphone and the Second Smartphone are the same). All terms and conditions applicable to the buyback program (available at https://www.amazon.in/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202110920), to the extent not contrary to these FAQs, will apply to the exchange of your First Smartphone with your Second Smartphone.

  17. Will I be charged a pick-up fee for exchanging the First Smartphone purchased under the Program?

    Yes, you could be charged a pick-up fee when you place the exchange order for the Second Smartphone. To know more details in relation to the pick-up fee, click here.

  18. What checks, in relation to the First Smartphone, will be performed in order to avail the guaranteed exchange price?

    The delivery associate will conduct checks in relation to the following before picking up the First Smartphone from you:

    1. The operating system of the First Smartphone isn't rooted or modified.
    2. The hardware specifications match that of the device claimed to be exchanged.
    3. The First Smartphone is switching on and remains in the 'ON' mode for a minimum of 30 seconds without being connected to a charger.
    4. The IMEI of the First Smartphone provided by you on Amazon.in at the time of exchange matches with the IMEI of the device you previously purchased on Amazon.in.
    5. Phone screen and the body of the First Smartphone are not in damaged or broken condition and the First Smartphone is in working condition.
    6. There are no cracks in the body or on the screen of the First Smartphone. The screen has to be intact and buttons should not be missing or damaged. The display should not have any spots or dead pixels.
    7. Original box and charger, headphones and accessories (as may be applicable) should be in good working condition.
    8. Screen lock is not active (all forms of screen locks like pattern, pin, password, fingerprint, face recognition, smart lock, etc. need to be deactivated).
    9. The original box should not hold any tears or dents, and the original charger and accessories should be in working condition, without anybody damages or missing parts.
    10. In case of Apple iPhones, iCloud account should be unlocked from the phone. In case of Android phones, Google account should be unlocked/signed out from the phone.

    In case you fail to provide the First Smartphone, box, charger or other accessories or if such product(s) do not meet the conditions specified above, the pickup of the device and delivery of the Second Smartphone will be cancelled. In such case, you will not be entitled to avail the benefits under the Program.

    Please note that an online quality check and automated checks at the point of pick-up may be conducted and no test will be skipped.

    If the First Smartphone satisfies all the checks stated above, only then will you be eligible to avail the guaranteed exchange price. If any or all of the quality checks stated above are not satisfied, the transaction may be cancelled.

  19. Can I exchange the benefits under the Program to get cash or Amazon Pay Balance?

    No.

  20. What happens if the sale price of the Second Smartphone is lower than the guaranteed exchange value?

    If the sale price of the Second Smartphone is lower than the guaranteed exchange value, you can only avail such value up to the amount of the sale price of the Second Smartphone. You will lose and cannot use any balance of the guaranteed exchange value in your subsequent purchases.

  21. Can I avail the guaranteed exchange price with respect to smartphones available on 'Lightning Deals'?

    No.

  22. Who is funding the guaranteed exchange value under the Program?

    The guaranteed exchange value under the Program is being funded by the seller of the Policy, to the total exclusion of Amazon. In addition to this guaranteed exchange value, certain brands and/or sellers may provide incremental value over and above the guaranteed exchange value.

Terms and Conditions


  1. These Guaranteed Exchange Price terms and conditions ("T&Cs"):
    1. apply to your participation under the Guaranteed Exchange Price Program ("Program");
    2. are in addition to the Amazon.in Conditions of Use and Sale and Privacy Notice to which you agree by using Amazon.in;
    3. hereby incorporate the FAQs governing the Program, which will be read as part and parcel of these T&Cs and will govern your participation under the Program.
  2. Capitalized terms used but not defined under these T&Cs have the same meaning as prescribed to them under the FAQs.
  3. The redemption of the guaranteed exchange price under this Program is subject to the quantity restrictions indicated against certain smartphones on Amazon.in. If there is a quantity restriction on the purchase of the new smartphone, and the customer has already purchased the units thereby exhausting the quantity restriction (without availing the benefits under the Program), the guaranteed exchange price cannot be redeemable against the excess quantity.
  4. Amazon reserves the right to withdraw / alter / modify / change or vary all or any of these T&Cs and/or the Program at any time without any prior notice and without any liability.
  5. By participating in this Program, you will be deemed to have accepted these T&Cs and expressly agree that Amazon or any of its affiliates will not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever that you may suffer, directly or indirectly, in connection with this Program.
  6. No person is bound in any way to participate in this Program. Any participation is voluntary.
  7. These T&Cs are governed by the laws of India and the courts at Bangalore will have exclusive jurisdiction over any matters / disputes in relation to these T&Cs and/or the Program (including any aspect of your participation under the Program).
  8. By participating in the Program, you hereby confirm that:
    1. all the data in the First Smartphone (if any and wherever applicable) will be erased before being exchanged under the Program; and
    2. in spite of erasing the data manually/electronically, if any data still accessible due to any reason, Amazon or its affiliates, and any other person involved in the administration of the Program will not be responsible for the same and you will not approach any of the above parties for any retrieval or deletion of the data.
  9. You understand that the Second Smartphone delivery and the First Smartphone pickup will happen simultaneously (hand in hand) and you will keep the First Smartphone ready to be given. In the event you refuse to provide the First Smartphone at the time of delivery, you agree that the transaction may be cancelled.
  10. Once the First Smartphone is sent for exchange under the Program, under no circumstance can the First Smartphone be returned back to you. In the event you return the Second Smartphone purchased under the Offer, the First Smartphone will not be returned to you and you will not be entitled to avail the benefits of the Program again (i.e. the guaranteed exchange value will not be provided to you again for subsequent purchases).
