We use your GST identification number to determine if and at what rate GST applies to your sales and purchases.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a destination-based tax on the consumption of goods and services. The law levies GST at all stages of production, from the manufacturer to the retailer who sells the goods for consumption. The tax does not cascade down the chain because businesses can offset it at each stage until the end consumer pays their portion.
All businesses with an annual taxable turnover greater than the threshold must register for GST. To register for GST, or to find more information, visit the Indian government's GST website.
If your business has a GST number, you must register it to your Amazon Business account to ensure you pay the correct GST.
We'll invite you to enter a GST number when you create an Amazon Business account.
If your business operates in more than one state, you must enter the GST number and address for every state in which your business operates. Entering all your GST details will ensure that you pay the correct GST on items that ship from other states.
Note: It may take up to three working days for us to verify your Amazon Business account.
Administrators can add, edit, or delete GST numbers for a business account at any time. Go to the Business Settings page and select Manage GST to view all the GST numbers registered to your account. You can add new GST numbers, or delete existing numbers. Select Manage to change the address and phone number for any existing GST number.
All members of your Amazon Business account can view the GST numbers registered to the account.
