Sing Unburied Sing is a story of a dysfunctional family with a supernatural touch, where each member deals with a haunting past or their own “ghost”. I felt that this book moved at a slow pace initially and sometimes I had to pull myself back into the story but the last few chapters made up for it. Jesmyn Ward’s writing is raw, lyrical, heartbreaking and makes you cringe and feel uncomfortable quite a few times.
Overall, it was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star read for me.
