The idea that cities are organic and lively (CAS; Complex Adaptive System) is very profound. Roads, railways, etc. are really important for development but the role of intellectuals and people in the development of cities cannot be ignored. One negative point about the opinion of author is that he criticises socialism beyond limit (socialism was hailed in pre and post independence era and this line of thinking was popular throughout the world). The interview of the author could have been dropped (seems out of place in this book). Overall, a good book.
