Amazon enables zero down payment vehicle loans for its delivery associates
Presents GoldeTies up with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. for “Jeeto” to pilot the initiative in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, October 09, 2015: Amazon today announced the launch of a vehicle loan scheme for its delivery associates in India. The initiative aims to help meet the aspirations of it delivery associates, key contributors to a trustworthy and reliable delivery. Under the scheme, delivery associates can secure zero down payment loans to upgrade their two wheelers to Mahindra’s mini truck “Jeeto”.
The initiative will be piloted in Hyderabad and subsequently rolled out to its delivery associates across the country. For this pilot, Amazon has partnered with Quess, its staffing partner and Mahindra and Mahindra Limited.
Interested delivery associates in Hyderabad, on the rolls of Quess, Amazon’s staffing partner for a minimum period of five months can enroll for the program. The associate will need to clear background verification and show proof of or acquire a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving license. Quess will help the associate obtain this commercial Transport driving license at no cost to the individual. Approved participants can avail of a loan with zero down payment, after which s/he becomes a proud owner of a Mahindra Jeeto. They will continue to have medical and accidental insurance benefits, as they did with two wheelers.

The “Jeeto” mini-truck by Mahindra and Mahindra that will be made available to the associates, under this initiative, has been specially customized for Amazon.in delivery associates. The vehicle has been designed and fabricated to make it safe and convenient for e-commerce deliveries with features like seat belts, charging ports, fans, cash box, tiffin/water carrier, straps and belts for trolleys, side doors, built in racks, nets, safety lights and a host of other things.
The initial response has been very positive with more associates keen to sign up in the coming months.
One of the early beneficiaries of Project Jeeto, Chiranjeev, a delivery associate from Kompally, Hyderabad says,“I am really proud to own a four-wheeler with no upfront investment. I can now deliver more packages using the four-wheeler which will help me earn more. My family is also glad as they don’t worry about my safety anymore. ”
