About Ashray Akruti
Ashray Akruti is a registered, recognized, non-religious charitable organization working for hearing impaired children since 1996. Special Education and Rehabilitation Services are provided to 350 children from underprivileged backgrounds through three centers in Hyderabad. The organization also provides Vocational Training to the Hearing Impaired Youth to help them earn a decent livelihood and be productive citizens in the society.

In the last 17 years, Ashray Akruti has scaled up from providing special education to 5 children to 350 children. It has encouraged nearly 200 children to take up mainstream education. This has resulted in empowering them and they are now able to compete with other children (non hearing impaired) and are doing well in their respective Schools, Colleges and Universities.

In the year 2010, a Multimedia computer animation training center was started to provide vocational training suitable to the modern day job market, suitable to the abilities of hearing impaired persons. The first batch of 15 students trained at the center was successfully placed; all of them now earning a decent income. The second batch of 13 students was trained recently and all of them have been placed.
