Save The Children

Save the Children is a global non-profit organisation which was founded in the year 1919. Today, it is India's leading independent child rights NGO. As of December 2017, we work in 19 states of India. Started in 2008 in India, and registered as 'Bal Raksha Bharat', we have changed the lives of more than 10 million (1 crore) children till date. In the year 2017, we reached 22.7 lakh children through our initiatives:

Geographical presence and Impact • Over 6000 students benefited through 232 centers • Employs School Readiness Instrument as a tool to estimate the number of our beneficiaries who are ready to be mainstreamed into formal schools • Employs policy Advocacy on inclusion of Early Childhood Education within Right to Education Act 2009 through membership of Early Childhood Association • Employs state-level policy consultation in collaboration with UNICEF on State Early Childhood Care and Education. • Since its inception in 2010, more than 200 children approached Dhvani not only from Mumbai but also from Surat, Pune, Ratnagiri, etc. • Over 15 cochlear implant surgeries have been conducted successfully, giving beneficiaries the gift of sound. • Conducted scientific presentations at a National Conference by Cochlear Implant Group of India at Jaipur and at a conference by National Convention of Educators of the Deaf at Mysore. • Reached to over 1000 survivors till date ensuring them an opportunity to life of dignity and self-respect. The organization has been involved in facilitating efficient return of over 2,000 survivors within the country and of over 450 foreign nationals by streamlining inter-country coordination. • Major accomplishment has been drafting of Code of Conduct for Safe and Honourable Tourism, Maharashtra State Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking and Partnering with Maharashtra Judicial academy for Development of National Judges Training. • Trained over 8000 personnel from law enforcement and judiciary to strengthen justice delivery to survivors. • The urban prevention interventions in Maharashtra and Delhi reach out to over 1500 women annually through skilling and empowerment initiatives
