Have you been intrigued with the aromatic scent that soothes your senses when you enter a spa, or how effectively a drop of eucalyptus oil in your handkerchief relieves your cold over the day? Well, that’s the power of essential oils. Put simply, an essential oil is the part of a plant that smells strongly. Unlike true oils (like olive oil), essential oils are far lighter and tend to vaporize when exposed to air.
A good way to understand essential oils is to think of them as the blood of plants. Like blood, essential oils seal, cuts and triggers hormonal responses in plants when they are threatened. These oils are so essential for plant vitality that without them, plants would die.
The markets are flooded with companies claiming to produce 100% natural essential oils that can pacify a lot of bodily ailment, reduce stress, uplift your mood and disinfect your house. But are they all too good to be true?
We got a chance to review Amazon.in’s white label, Elansa essential oil range, we used it over a month to really see if it is really genuine and effective. Here are my thoughts…
I am a novice myself when it comes to usage of essential oils on daily basis, Elansa sent me an amazing essential oil reference book, which lists every single oil with detailed instructions on how to use them, as well as a section in the back with all sorts of illnesses, ailments, mood and behavior struggles, etc. and then numerous ideas for various oils that could be used in each situation. This book was invaluable to me, both in delving into my review of these oils, and also in becoming more experienced in using essential oils in general.
