Amazon.in to make faster deliveries in Leh starting this Festive Season
Grows its presence in the region through its own delivery network to delight customers with faster deliveries
Leh, India – October 5, 2017: With the onset of the festive season, Amazon.in has set up its own delivery network in the Leh district of Jammu & Kashmir. Amazon.in’s existence in the form of a Service Partner in the region will now enable faster deliveries to customers via the expanded line haul and last mile delivery network. During the Great Indian Festive Sale, Amazon.in delivered packages to customers from remote locations in Leh district such as Diskit, Hunder and Turtuk.
Commenting on the commencement of deliveries via Amazon Logistics in Leh District of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfilment, Amazon India said, “We believe customers, no matter where they are located, value fast & reliable delivery. With the increasing demand from non-metro cities, and the limited logistics infrastructure available in this region, we have begun commencement of deliveries in Leh district, Jammu & Kashmir through our own delivery network. The Service Partner program is one of the last mile models by Amazon Logistics in India wherein entrepreneurs act as Amazon.in’s local distribution network providers and create the last mile delivery footprint. Currently, the company has over 350 Service Partner nodes across the country, of which one of them caters to the delivery needs of Leh district.
