The Amazon India Fashion Week brought us a lot of fresh beauty and make-up looks this year. Since it was the Spring-Summer (2018) edition, there were a lot of pretty pastels, glossy, healthy flushes, pop colours and a more restrained take on darker colours as well. Here we round up 7 looks you can pick right off the ramp.
Eye-catching yet soft, this look from Day 1 was a wonderful combination to kick off the week. What’s great about this look is that it doesn’t require you to have great mastery over your make-up brush or super steady fingers. Just take a bunch of colours and fleck your eye lids any way you want.
Similar shades as the first trend, this involves coating your eyelid with one colour just like you would fill a picture with crayons. Playful and bright, this look works great for daytime casuals as well as daytime wedding ceremonies.
Sharp lines and geometric patterns are back this year after a season of softer, smudged lines. Extended shapes in the inner corner are a new twist. Pro-tip – draw out the lines as dashes and then join them for a smoother line instead of trying to draw it on in a single flourish.
It might be ‘spring-summer’ and time for brighter hues, but we also got some inspiration for those hot summer nights, which of course works brilliantly for the winter as well. Keep the rest of the face clean and matte and choose a sharp maroon or wine lip to go with monochrome outfits. On the other hand, this season also showed us a brighter, more scarlet version paired with a clear face that would go with both Indian and western outfits
Whether it is because your outfits are bright and colourful or you want to go for a more subdued look, the no make-up nude look is your go to and is always in. Just even out your complexion with some light foundation, dab a bit of blush and put on mascara and you are good to go.
Let your inner glow shine through by going in for a lightly tinted glossy look. Apply a good moisturizer, add some translucent powder or cream highlighter to your cheekbones and brow bones and use some pinky nude gloss for your lips.
Also worth a mention are some refreshing, quirky looks that you can try your hand at if you’re feeling edgy.
Use some false eyelashes and bunch lashes into sections to get this look
Extend your blush all the way up to your temples. Use a cream blush for best results
While blue eyeshadow in itself is on trend, go for a tape-like strip instead of blending into the curves of the eye
Give your eyes a sequined effect by dotting the lashlines using white or silver liquid liner or liquid bindi.
