Q1. What is the setup required for Live TV on Fire TV? Is this experience available out of the box?
A: Live TV feature on Fire TV introduces a ‘Live’ tab on the navigation pane and an ‘On Now’ row on the Fire TV home screen, making it easier to find, browse and access live content from subscribed apps. All (new and existing) Fire TV Stick and Fire Edition TV customers will soon receive Live tab feature with an over-the-air software update. The ‘On Now’ row is available, on the basis of your app downloads and subscription status. At launch, we have integrated content from SonyLIV, Voot, Discovery+ and NextG TV. Download and subscribe to these apps from your Fire TV Appstore and get access to popular TV channels.
Q2. Do I have to pay for the App subscriptions or is it included in Fire TV Stick/Fire Edition TV cost?
A: To access live TV channels, you will need to pay for the app subscriptions separately. Please open the app on your Fire TV device or refer to individual app websites for details on subscriptions.
Q3. How do I subscribe to these apps? How do I pay for the app subscriptions?
A: You can pay for the subscriptions easily from your Fire TV device. Open any of the integrated apps (Sony Liv, Voot, Discovery+, or NexGTV) on your Fire TV and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the subscription process. You can pay using Net Banking, Credit Cards and Debit Cards on your Fire TV device. You can also purchase subscription for respective apps using a web browser from your phone or laptop.
Q4. Is the Live tab and On Now row experience available on all the Fire TV devices?
Yes. All the existing and new Fire TV Stick and Fire Edition TV customers will soon receive this new Live tab feature with an over-the-air software update.
