Kindle paperwhite does not read aloud.
However, there are many free apps available to convert text to speech (TTS). They work with text files such as word. I am not sure if they work with kindle books and pdf books.

As a user, you can get very high speeds with 4G. In the case of Kindle PW with 3G package, you will get to download ebooks at fast speeds -- provided you are using it in a place where 3G signals are available. In most cities, this is available, but in some places where the signal is weak or services not available, this may not be of use. I got the non-3G version, only wifi version since I use the PW at home where I have wifi. In case I take it out while on tour, I already have downloaded the books to read and in case I want to browse, I turn on the mobile handset - I have both 3G and 4G handsets which become wifi hostspots and can pair with the KindlePW and continue browsing the Amazon site.
