Miko - India's First Companion Robot
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
We stumbled upon reported findings on year on year consistent drop in learning levels of kids in India in spite of information being available at fingertips. Parallely, we also witnessed the addiction in today’s young children to mediums of technology not meant for them like social media, video games etc and disgruntled parents left with no other option since every other child in the classroom or neighborhood had access to the same. It led to a clear need by parents for a positive and trusted gateway of technology for kids that caters to their learning and development needs.
What makes your product special?
Miko is India’s first companion robot with the capability of engaging, educating, and entertaining a child the Indian way. MIKO allows the parents to control the relationship it shares with the child and it learns more and more about the interacting child’s likes, dislikes and preferences as they interact on various topics.
What has been the best part of your experience?
It is the journey to bring Miko to reality from a white board concept which has been over 3 year long with multiple pilots in different parts of India. A global team of engineers, mathematicians, artists, engineers, psychologists and teachers came together to understand the unmet needs of parents, their kids and finally create Miko. This is the first step to our long term vision of bringing emotionally intelligent products in the life of consumers.Miko
