The poetry is delicate and makes you take a pause and appreciate what you have in life - love for your parents, life partner, children, friends. Recognize the simpler but fundamental things – motivation to constantly strive to be better, do better – I loved “''' '''' ''''''' ''”. ''''' is beautiful in its simplicity and succinctness, and leaves the reader pining for more.
Overall an excellent book to have by your side, that you can come back to again and again.
“Your Shadow Wants to Walk Alone” is a collection of poems originally written in Hindi with their English Translation. This book is a must read for anyone who is associated with Hindi Poems or wishes to get associated. I will strongly recommend all business professionals to pick up this book and give it a read. We will identify so much with the emotions that Kishore reflects in his poetry.
Most Hindi poets are professionals who are students of the language. This is a book of Poems by a successful professional. “Your Shadow Wants to Walk alone” is an expression of emotions of a professional, his soulful responses to love, relationships, family and Children (daughters grow up too fast) moods, ( Yahin To Ho, Khalipan) and even interaction with Nature ( Chaand , Barish)
The poems are written simply and reflect first emotional response to a situation, a circumstance or a relationship. This book is a great way to get indoctrinated in to the world of poetry. The simplicity of expression may even motivate some to pick up a pen or type a few words of rhyme.
Five Stars all the way for simplicity, expression of true emotion and above all showing the other side of a business professional
Very enjoyable read. Only wish I would have experienced it during the winter-time, near a crackling open fireplace, rather than during the heat of summer. It’s a great gift for anyone who appreciates the affectionate and speckled side of life.
I must admit, it was such an immersive experience reading his poems from “Your Shadow Wants to Walk Alone” – it was immersive for its simplicity, for the various moods of life captured so brilliantly and reflected through such well-chosen words.
“Kabhi sunate hain khud ko
Kabhi sunte bhi hain khud ki
Dhund ke late hain samay ko
Khud se batein karne ko”
How easily has he handled such a heavy topic? It goes much deeper than what meets the eyes through those words…
While all the poems are beautifully written, another favorite of mine is “Chand” –
“Simmat kar haath mein aaya
Kaha, kafi der kaga dee”
Or take “doraha” – in those simple few lines, the author has said so much.
I recently read some of the poems to my friends and they just couldn’t believe that these are the words from such a senior corporate leader and not a career poet… Unanimously, everybody said one thing – “I can relate to it”. That, it’s from our everyday life – that it indeed is the story of “my shadow”…
This is a “must have, must read” for every person who wants to pause for a moment and reflect on the journey that we call “LIFE” – in essence, a book for everybody.
My hearty congratulations to Sandeep on compiling and publishing these beautiful poems and for sharing his poetic self with the larger world. I also wanted to wish him the best for the great cause for which he is promoting this book.
